Meet Hank the Cowdog - Who Didn't Ask for This Rodeo

With a name like Hank the Cowdog, you might expect a tough ranch hand who spends his days herding cattle and keeping the prairie in line.

Instead, Hank wandered into our lives as a stray with a limp and a smile that could win over just about anyone.

When we took him to the vet, the news wasn't exactly pasture-perfect. X-rays revealed several old fractures in his pelvis and femur that had mostly healed on their own, though not quite the way they should have. To help him move comfortably again, Hank will need an FHO surgery, a procedure that runs about $1,000.

Despite it all, Hank is still a joyful boy. In his foster home, he's learning his commands, though his enthusiasm for the treats can sometimes get in the way of the trick. Thankfully, his big grin and happy dance more than make up for it.

Hank's road to recovery will take time, and we promised him we would be there every step of the way - something we can only do knowing we have you by our side.
